Fishing
Fishing is in the Maldivian blood. It is so entwined in the lives of Maldivians that there are celebrations when a good catch is caught and complaints when fish is scarce at our dinner tables. Maldivian fishermen wake up to the dawn call of island roosters, collect bait in nearby reefs and start a full day's work at the deep blue seas, using the artful pole and line method of fishing. To experience the satisfaction of catching and cooking your own fish, a night fishing trip (offered by the hotel) is the way to go. Your boat leaves before the sunset to find a good spot near a reef. The boat crew will show you how to use the lines, hooks, and sinkers.
Dolphin Watching
Pinner Dolphins are the commonest species, and they occur here in their tens of thousands. They have a regular daily routine to their lives, feeding offshore at night, coming into the atolls in the early morning, and leaving again for the open ocean in the late afternoon.
This dependable schedule means that it is very easy to find Spinner Dolphins at certain times every day. And as a result, we offer afternoon dolphin excursions to see Spinners. While nothing with wildlife can be absolutely guaranteed, you will never have a better chance to watch wild dolphins playing in their natural environment than right here in the Maldives.
Trip To Resorts
There are many resorts in South Male Atoll and you see some of them every day as you stroll around the island or lie relaxing on the beach. The full-day excursion offers you the possibility of sampling for yourself the unique beauty of at least some of these. This excursion is offered daily to islands that are about 20 minutes by speed boat and a different resort is selected for each excursion. Surfing
Surfing South Male' atoll. A surf holiday at Sandy Heaven hotel will be the ideal holiday to surf the breaks in South Male' atoll. The island of Gulhi has easy access to three of the popular South Male' atoll surf locations. One being the island (Gulhi reef) breaks you can just pick the board and swim to the surf.Gurus (Gulhi) in North Male Atoll is an exposed reef break that has fairly consistent surf. May-Oct (Dry Season) is the optimum time of year for waves. Ideal winds are from the north northwest and there is no shelter here from cross shore breezes.

Dive programs at Sandy Heaven starts from the Bubble Maker (for ages 8-10) and Discover Scuba Diving (for ages 10+) and range up to PADI Certification Courses which include Open Water, Advanced Open Water, Rescue Diver and Nitrox courses. Floating Bar and Safari that is located about 15 minutes offshore by boat.The only place in Gulhi that serves alcohol. The Maldives law prohibits consumption of alcohol on local islands, therefore we managed serve alcohol on an offshore boat.
